Powder Charcoal

Powdered charcoal is made by heating charcoal to a high temperature in a low-oxygen environment.

The process can involve calcining materials like sawdust, coconut shells, olive pits, or peat.

Steps for making charcoal powder:

  1. Crush wood waste into fine sawdust
  2. Dry the sawdust
  3. Form the sawdust into briquettes
  4. Carbonize the sawdust briquettes in a low-oxygen environment
  5. Heat the charcoal to a very high temperature in a tank without oxygen
Uses of charcoal powder
  • Activated charcoal: A fine, black, odorless powder used for various purposes 
     
  • Cosmetic ingredient: Charcoal powder can be used as an ingredient in cosmetics
